Meet The Women: Nicolle Callier

It’s Nicolle here, officially signing onto The International Girl Gang Network.

I’m a creative storyteller currently living in my hometown of Seattle. However, I grew up in Atlanta where I first witnessed #BlackExcellence, and heard and fell in love with Trap music.

I was first introduced to the “sticky-icky” in HIGHschool via my homeboy, but it wasn’t until college that I really started consuming cannabis medicinally. I attended college at a PWI (Predominantly White Institution) and my friends and I, who were Black and Latino, smoked weed to ease our anxiety from having to maneuver around a city/campus where we often felt, and at times were treated, like we didn’t belong.

So, you already know there were many late night, last minute study and smoke sessions where we talked about everything, from our personal struggles to our future aspirations, all over a Swisher Sweet. That’s when I first realized the power and influence cannabis has over conversation and people’s ability and willingness to share their emotions and experiences.

After graduating college I got involved in the cannabis industry as a editorial intern. From there I started writing for various digital cannabis media platforms.

As a storyteller in cannabis media my entire mission is to bring awareness to social injustices, like the War on Drugs and lack of BIWOC representation in the legal weed industry, and to explore these topics looking through the lenses of music, art, and fashion. I interview womxn and POC artists and entrepreneurs who are involved in the business of legal weed and also enjoy cannabis for its medicinal, spiritual, and artistic talents.

Right now my favorite strain is Green Queen. A hybrid cross of Green Crack x Space Queen. It’s one of those super uplifting, energizing strains. The type of weed I like to smoke in the morning as a perfect start to my busy day, or even during the evenings when I go out and turn up with the gang gang.

I’m so thrilled and proud to join my Women.Weed.WiFi sisters and The International Girl Gang. I look forward to continuing to speak and connect with more amazing womxn and femme artists exclusively for the Women.Weed.WiFi blog over a blunt and edible, or two…

Stay tuned for future artists interviews, cannabis event recaps, and more!

Co$mic Poetry: Black Woman Witch

Hey babes! I’m so excited to share the newest visual poem for “Black Woman Witch” I wrote this poem thinking about all of the different types of fuckery black women go through on the daily, but from the perspective of a victor rather than the victim.

The dark witch that pities those that harm her, and laughs the last laugh even while burning in the cruel world.

In the same way that the earth will spare none of us that contribute to her destruction, those that disrespect black women will also destroy themselves in the process.

Mystic Marijuana Flow: New Moon in Virgo Yoga Series

Our yoga sequence is formulated to honor and move with the New Moon’s energy in Virgo. When you reach Sun Salutation B, read what we have outlined for you to tweak your routine. Two options are listed to help you focus on what you have to give in your practice and keeping the wonder alive. New Moon in Virgo teaches us that we can accomplish more when we look into the details of our strength. Holding a pose for a really long time doesn’t indicate strength, more so its the unshakeable serenity while being committed to your goals.

If I wish to expand, I must first contract

To be mentally flexible, I must be physically gentle

Begin in a seated position or child’s pose. Close your eyes and allow yourself to settle into your body. Become aware of your breath. Begin to reset its rhythm by taking deep inhales to fill up, and deep exhales to let go of all the stale air in your body. Breathe into the sensations that arise and use your breath to break away tension in your body. Gradually engage your ujjayi breath to use throughout the flow—Deep breaths in through your nose and deep exhales out of your nose. Enjoy getting acquainted with your breath for several minutes. Blink your eyes open or keep them closed. Shift forward to table top position and flow through several rounds of cat/cow poses.

SUN A (Flow)

Mystic Marijuana: New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo

If you haven’t tasted a year’s worth of honey, a bottle of natural nectar collected from late winter-early spring is lighter in color and less complex in flavor, than a summer’s thick, sticky golden harvest. It’s easy for bees to stay active in hotter temperatures, therefore honey in the summer tends to be even more delicious, since they work twice as hard. Similar to how everyone else spends their length of solstice, theres an increase in movement and pleasure for all beings.

The sun is designed for our spiritual growth, and causes us to experience a great deal of expansiveness. Irritation from the bloody heat can distract us and the sun’s rays of light can pull us in so many places emotionally. We are so dictated by the sun, keeping us awake and losing sleep, causing us to feel deprived of moon substance. A major point that we shouldn’t miss is that life opens up during the summer, to offer new directions. We can become something bigger than our own individual life, because there’s  plenty to do/see/explore on brighter days!

When it’s cold we don’t feel as free, similar to bees who have to travel to get what they need. Bees huddle close together during hibernation, creating a nest full of vibration to keep wisdom warm. Our sun streamlines mass pollination for bees alongside exceeding interactions amongst be-ings, raising our bar of confidence to bring ourselves and our aspirations forward in the world. Real honey is like our pot of purpose, its going to be an extra climb to have it, but it’ll always be fortifying, a sweetness that truly never spoils!

Today’s new moon in Leo shares this notion that we can easily bruise from the sun as much as the sun fills us with joy. Meaning, everything negative and positive will continue to grow evenly. The sun cannot pick what to weed out. It is up to the protectors of the earth to decide what flourishes. Notice how bees manage, direct, and invest their energy to what matters most to them. Bees search for multiple flowers of knowledge to assist earth and earthly beings with seasonal lessons, one fragile bloom at a time. So we must follow that same buzz.

What the bees, sun, and flowers all have in common is they all carry a high frequency. Higher frequencies are tools to our ascenscion. This solar eclipse, new moon in Leo is helping us move up. The sun’s DNA transmits high vibrational downloads for higher awakening; many of us could run into trauma and/or pain because receiving high frequency energies purges that which is of a lower frequency. Also, my own divine theory is that since western minds usually personify the sun as male, maybe bees are the sun’s female counterparts, responsible for earth’s exuberance, relying on its fragrance and spectrum of flowers. The aroma of flowers help bees pollinate, producing tons of food we eat that also have high frequency energies. It is no wonder bees are attracted to flowers of high frequency, because flowers soak up the vibration of the sun and are also stuck in earth absorbing its vibration too. Bees know exactly what they need to move forward, in terms of spiritual growth.

We can do the same action as bees, especially with the benefits of essential oils, inhaling the flower/plant’s high frequencies.

To enhance our successful journey the way sun amplifies our truth and opens doors, we teamed up with a local, WOC-owned company, Karmic Baths to blend an annointing oil, for you to acquire wealth and promote self-love. "The Gold Pathway," has frankincense, myrrh, palmarosa, sweet orange, calendula flowers in a sunflower oil base. You can rub it on your heart, the veiny areas of your wrist, or on your fingertips! This hemp-based CBD annointiment comes with a personalized spell for you to perform in order to unite with your intentional achievements.
